Vaccine: Duvaxyn® WNV
- Fort Dodge continues to lead the way in protecting horses against West Nile virus.
- The first company to develop and licence a West Nile virus vaccine in the United States:
- a vaccine that was the only vaccine available in the United States at the height of the 2002 outbreak which affected just over 15,000 horses, and
- a vaccine that was credited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to contribute to the 70 per cent decline in U.S. equine WNV cases since the height of the outbreak.
- An inactivated, whole virus vaccine, this vaccine – proven in the face of an outbreak –
is now the first West Nile virus vaccine to be licensed in Europe.
- Duvaxyn® WNV joins the existing Duvaxyn range of inactivated whole virus vaccines from Fort Dodge.
